About this music

This page is a collection of music that I have been personally involved with in some way or another. Either I wrote it or I was a member of the band that played it.

Solo

The below playlist is a collection of solo music I have been working on over the last few years. I work on it whenever I get some spare time. I played all of the tracks, except where noted. Lots more to come soon.
drums on "Student Body Precedents": David Kains

B & L Welding Company

This band marks the first time since the Medieval Knievels where Bradford and I got together and wrote some silly instrumental tracks. Bradford is on geetar, and I played the electronic drumbs. We were having a blast, except that one time my drum set got smashed on the way to a gig. We dressed like welders on stage.

Gymkata

Gymkata formed when Affirmative Action Figure split up and John and I began jamming with Scott (ex-After Any Accident). I guess people thought we were a bit too loud. I kept blowing up my amps so they may have been right. These are most of the tracks from the CD we did, "When Eugene Levy Breaks."

Affirmative Action Figure

Affirmative Action Figure got together when John and Mike from Six needing someone to jump in and play bass for them. We began to write stuff together and the style of the band changed somewhat and became noiser. We did some cool songs and played shows around the valley. We all wanted to change the name of the band but never could decide on what to change it to. These are the songs from our CD, "Peer-to-peer Pressure."

Medieval Knievels

Medieval Mofackin' Knievels. Cartoon surf-stomp rock that was as much fun to play as it was to jump around on stage and try to injure ourselves. We were purely instrumental, except for our 4-foot-tall mascot named Kenny who thought he was singing but was merely propped in front of a dead mike. We did a cassette(!) "Lusty Zesty Sexy Spicy" and a 7" on red vinyl. Sloth, AKA Bam-bam (ex-JFA) played the drums and Bradford was on guitar (me on bass). Later, Bradford would move on, and Chris Knievel stepped in. Here are all the tracks from the cassette and the 7".. there might be more out there somewhere and when I find them I will add them to this list.

Fork

Fork was born out of our mutual interest in bands like the Jesus Lizard, Drive Like Jehu, Cows and Hammerhead. We were all interested in doing something overwhelmingly loud and over-the-top, some kind of super-aggressive noise that would allow us to work out our issues. We did three tours and put out 7" records on several different labels and had tracks that showed up on various compilations. We recorded an LP's worth of songs but internal strife and other various problems prevented a full-length from seeing the light of day. Here are all the tracks I can scrounge at the moment. When I find more, I will add them to this list.
